Willard S. Barber, 85, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday November 24, 2017 at Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating.
A native of Caswell County, he was a son of the late Beverly T. and Bertha Towler Barber and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Reidsville Police Department where he had worked 28 years. A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of Covington Memorial Wesleyan Church. Willard was preceded in death by brothers: Ernest Barber, Sterley Barber, Kermit Barber and Raymond Barber and sisters: Ruby B. Vaughn, Gladys B. Tucker, Nannie W. Barber, Jean B. Blakeman and Gatrel B. Hyler.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Shirley M. Barber of the home, Son: Kevin Eugene Barber and wife Leah of Lexington, SC, grandchildren: Rachel Hope Barber, Graham Phillip Barber, and Jacob “Jake” Alexander Barber all of Lexington, SC, brother: Clinton Barber of Danville, VA, and Swanson Barber and wife Ruby of Providence, NC, and sister: Frances B. Hobbs of Eden.
The family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary of the church and at other times will be at the residence.

Willard was such a saint of a man and loved to greet at Covington. He always came over to shake our hands and always said he appreciated us! He will be dearly missed but I know that our loss is heaven's gain! RIP, Willard! With love, Eddie and Carol Ward
