Ernest Boyd Lamberth Jr.,63, died Friday, February 16, 2018, at Annie Penn Hospital.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in Greenview Cemetery with Military Rites by the Rockingham Co. Veteran’s Honor Guard.
A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of Virginia Evans Lamberth and the late Ernest Boyd “Tunnie” Lamberth and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. Boyd was a former employee of Replacements Ltd. and a former member of First United Methodist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Reidsville Sr. High School,a graduate of Piedmont Aerospace Institute, Guilford College and was a US Air force Veteran. Boyd was a Civil War enthusiast who had done many searches for Civil War sites and he had many articles about the Civil War that were published in various journals and magazines. He was also an avid Carolina Fan.
Surviving is his mother; Virginia Evans Lamberth of Greensboro, his sister; Brenda L. Otey of Summerfield and numerous close cousins. There will be no formal visitation. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Lamberth Family. Memorials may be made to: The American Cancer Society 4A Oak Branch Dr. Greensboro, NC 27407 or to an Animal Rescue Organization of the donor’s choice. Boyd was an astute scholar of the Civil War and a devoted member of his family. I will miss our conversations on mutual interests. He was a good man.

Very sorry to hear that Boyd passed away. Talked to him last week. He was a heck of a nice guy and a good friend. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.
