Anne Griffin Leebrick, 90, died Monday, March 5, 2018, in Reidsville, NC.
A private graveside service was conducted Thursday, March 8 at New Lebanon Christian Church in Reidsville. On Sunday, March 18 at 3:00 p.m. a Service of Remembrance will be conducted at Grace Fellowship Church in Reidsville.
Anne was the daughter of Charles C. and Ethalinda Jones Griffin. She was married to the late Rev. Bland A. Leebrick, Sr. for 53 years. She provided devoted care to her husband for the last decades of his life when he was in poor health. She had a very strong faith and persevered through any challenge that came her way with prayer and acceptance.
She grew up in the Bethany community and graduated from Elon College. She taught English and French in public schools in North Carolina and Virginia for 30 years and ended her career after 20 years at Morehead High School in Eden.
Central to her life was her deep faith in God and a sincere concern for the welfare of her family and others. She and her husband served at various Congregational Christian and United Church of Christ churches. Anne was an asset and a full partner in her husband’s ministry. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Reidsville and she joined the First Congregational Christian Church, now Grace Fellowship Church. As long as her health permitted she was an active church member; she truly loved her entire church family and especially those in her Sunday School class and her Circle.
Anne is survived by two daughters, Gloria Keesee of Columbia, Maryland, Deborah Isley (Bill) of Winston-Salem, and a son, Bland Leebrick, Jr. (Katherine) of Reidsville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Alan (Jackie) Keesee, Melinda (Brandan) Kimble, Ben (Jesse) Isley, Katie (Matt) Doyle, Brandon (Amy) Leebrick and Elizabeth Leebrick, and 10 great grandchildren. She considered her family her greatest blessing and accomplishment. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers (Iredell Griffin and Milton Griffin) and four sisters (Aleta Ellison, Ethalinda Allred, Marian Law and Virginia Bailey).
The family would like to thank Charlene Woodson for her loving companionship and care of Anne over the last four years.
Memorials may be made to the cemetery fund of New Lebanon Christian Church, 521 Huffines Mill Road, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Grace Fellowship Church, 1863 S. Park Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Leebrick family. Online condolences may be made at www.cittyfh.com

Mrs. Leebrick’s Family, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your mom. She was a loving and caring teacher. She taught many students English while teaching at Morehead High School. I am sure she has been joined with her husband in the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
