William Nichols, Jr., 94, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Saturday February 18, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday February 21, 2017 in Reidlawn Cemetery.
A native of Reidsville, NC, he was a son of the late William Nichols, Sr. and the late Lallah Sapp Nichols and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was the retired branch manager of American Tobacco Co and a US Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He attended UNC Chapel Hill, and was a graduate of the Program for Management Development at Harvard University. He was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church where he had previously served as a Steward, Sunday School Teacher, and Den Master. He was an avid fan of UNC Chapel Hill athletics and enjoyed playing golf and tennis at Pennrose Park Country Club. Bill was a former member of the Board of Directors of Annie Penn Hospital, Pennrose Park Country Club, Rockingham Community Foundation, Hospice of Rockingham County, Crimestoppers of Rockingham County, Help, Inc., and served as the former campaign chairman of United Way of Reidsville. Bill was preceded in death by his wife: Constance Scoggin Nichols, a son: William Nichols III, and brothers: Jack Nichols and Charles Nichols.
Survivors include: daughters: Jean Fetter Catlett and husband Brian, Nancy Price and husband Larry, son: Anthony Armistead “Tony” Nichols and wife Kimberly, and a daughter-in-law: Melinda Nichols, He is also survived by grandchildren: Josh Nichols, Larry “Bear” Price, Kelley Price, Nick Nichols, Zach Nichols, Grace Nichols, Katherine Nichols, Victoria Nichols and Chelsea Nichols.
There will be no formal visitation.
Memorials may be sent to The Rockingham County Animal Shelter 250 Cherokee Camp Rd. Reidsville, NC 27320 in honor of his faithful companion “Bear”.
Citty Funeral Home is assisting the Nichols family.

Have so so many fond memories of Mr Nichols over the years of us being next door neighbors. We were both always in the yard working and he shared a lot of fun tips with me. Always remember he and Lucky taking their daily walks . Please know I will be praying for you all. Big hugs Laura
